The organizing committee has selected Waldemar in Hunt, Texas as the location for the Ninth IEEE DSP Workshop and the First Siignal Processing EDucation Workshop. This exclusive girl's summer camp and corporate retreat is situated right on the banks of the Guadalupe River, deep in the heart of Texas' beautiful Hill Country. Waldemar provides a serene setting with outdoor activities such as hiking, canoeing, fishing, tennis, rock climbing/rappeling, and a challenge course.

Waldemar serves as an ideal venue for the workshop. Aside from its natural and architectural beauty, there are numerous meeting rooms for poster sessions and plenary talks with additional large and inviting spaces for the informal gathering of attendees between sessions, or during the afternoon open hours or after dinner. And, if the weather permits, there is also a large outdoor amphitheater on the banks of the river with lighting and sound facilities which is an ideal location for plenary lectures.

Elegantly rustic stone cabins provide comfortable accommodations for 2-8 persons. Most cabins have fireplaces, and all have porches or patios. In addition to these cabins, there are a small number of private rooms available for couples and families requiring higher levels of privacy. The food at Waldemar has a reputation for excellence, with the current chef being a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America.
